Regulation
Exclusive Capital Ltd.

CySEC
Exclusive Capital offers trading in 45 currency pairs, and CFDs on precious metals, commodities and several indices on two trading platforms – MetaTrader 5 and NetDania. Behind the brand is Exclusive Capital Ltd., a company that has been licensed by Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) in 2017.
Currently, CySEC is probably the most preferred European financial regulator and there are plenty of forex brokers under its supervision. On one hand it has less strict requirements than those of UK’s FCA (an the UK is exiting the EU), on the other – Cyprus is an EU member state, which means the companies registered and licensed there can carry out business across the Union under the EU passporting rules.
CySEC-licensed brokersare required to hold at least €730 000 as a proof of their financial stability, to keep client funds in segregated accounts, as well as to report to the Commission on a regular basis.
Furthermore, all licensed brokers are members of the Investor Compensation Fund, which may cover a maximum of 20,000 EUR per person in the event of broker insolvency.
Trading Conditions
Minimum Initial Deposit
In order to open an account with Exclusive Capital, traders have to invest a minimum of $1000, which is a comparatively high initial deposit. Most Cyprus-based brokers require less. In order to open an account with FXTM, for example, one has to deposit just $5. The minimum initial deposit required by another Cypriot broker, HYCM, is $100.
Spreads & Commissions
According to the information on its website, Exclusive Capital provides tight variable spreads, starting from 0.2 pips on majors, and adds commission of $10 per standard lot on Prime accounts. This sounds like a competitive pricing, as average trading costs per lot on EUR/USD are around 1.2 pips (spread + commission).
Unfortunately, when we tried out Exclusive Capital’s demo MT5 platform, we found that the spread on EUR/USD is fixed at 3 pips and that no commission fees apply. By comparison, most fixed-spread brokers offer a spread of 3 pips for the EUR/USD pair, which is also the case with HYCM.
In our opinion, a forex broker making false claims about its trading conditions is even worse than a brokerage offering high spreads.
Leverage
The maximum leverage level offered by Exclusive Capital is 1:200. Such ratio is common for the FX market, yet the CySEC has proposed 1:50 as default leverage. According to the Cypriot financial watchdog, brokers offering “excessive leverage” to retail clients are most likely not doing it in the best interest of traders, because the higher the leverage, the greater the risk.
Nonetheless, many Cyprus-based brokers offer high leverage levels – for example, HYCM provides leverage up to 1:400.
Trading Platforms
Trading with Exclusive Capital can be done on two platforms: MetaTrader 5 (MT5) and NetDania.
NetDania is a trading, charting and information platform developed by the Danish company NetDania Creations. This fully featured trading platform is Cloud-based and easy to use, but unfortunately is not available in demo mode and we have not tried it out.
The popularity of MetaTrader 5 has been growing steadily since the hedging option was finally added to it last year, as well as number of other enhancements made lately by its developer to all versions of the platform.
MT5 is a multi-asset trading platform that offers access to various financial markets, including those for forex, contracts for difference (CFDs), options and futures markets, as well as stocks. The platform uses MQL5 programming language and allows automated trading via Expert Advisors (EAs). The platform allows four types of order execution – Instant, Request, Market and Exchange.
Methods of Payment
Exclusive Capital supports the following payment methods: credit/debit cards, bank wire transfer, and popular e-wallets Skrill, WebMoney and Neteller.
Accepted currencies: USD, EUR, HUF.
Exclusive Capital is a newly-launched forex and CFD broker which holds a CySEC license and offers trading on two platforms. Despite its strong regulation, we consider its credibility questionable, as the trading conditions announced on its website differ substantially from the ones on the MT5 platform. Besides, the minimum initial investment required by Exclusive Capital is a bit high.
Instead of the forex broker you can use Plus500, XM, eToro, Fxpro or AvaTrade forex brokers.
