Investex Review

Investex offers 3 forex trading account types. The Classic account offers instant execution with fixed or variable spreads, while Pro and Premium ones provide market execution with tighter variable spreads and a small commission fee. All account types offer the opportunity to trade in micro lots.

The Company. Security of Funds

Founded in more than 10 years ago as a bank, Investex offers trading in a wide range of currency pairs, and various CFDs on currencies, shares, indices, commodities and precious metals, equity indices and precious metals on the widely used MetaTrader 4 platform.

Investex is a brand name used and owned by B2B Bank Limited, a privately held international bank, licensed under the Financial Services Authority (FSA) of St. Vincent & the Grenadines and authorized to conduct a broad range of banking business under the FSA’s supervision.

We generally advise traders to avoid offshore companies and to invest with brokers regulated by reliable authorities such as UK’s FCA, or Australia’s ASIC. However, this is not the case with Investex.

Companies, holding Class A International Banking License with SVG’s FSA must meet various requirements. For example, they have to establish and maintain a capital fund with fully paid-up capital of not less than US $1,000,000 or its equivalent in another currency.

Such international banking license allows companies to conduct all types of banking business with customers outside the country of issuance. That is why Investex’ products and services are not being offered to residents of St. Vincent and Grenadines. The broker also does not accept citizens and residents of Japan and the United States as clients.

Trading Conditions

Minimum Initial Deposit

In order to open an account with Investex, one has to deposit $100, which is average. For example, another offshore brokerage, FX Choice, has set the same low minimum initial requirement, but this applies to all account types (including the ECN one).

Average spreads & Commissions

This brokerage offers both fixed and variable spreads. Fixed ones are average, amounting to 2 pips on EUR/USD. Similar is the situation with variable spreads provided on commission-free (Classic) accounts, which are averaged 1.2 pips on EUR/USD. That is why we would recommend the Pro accounts, where spreads start out at 0.1 pips and involve a small commission – $2 per lot. Cost of trading on such accounts is below 1 pips per standard lot, which is a really good pricing

In comparison, FX Choice also provides average spreads amounting to 1.2 pips on EUR/USD on its commission-free accounts, while its ECN spreads are averaged 0.5 pips and a commission of $3.50 per lot (per side) applies. Maximum Leverage

The maximum leverage rates offered by Investex are high, reaching 1:500. Yet, most brokers offer leverage within the range of 1:200 – 1:500, including FX Choice. Some even provide higher leverage levels.

Nonetheless, we advise traders to exercise caution when using high leverage levels, for they involve greater risk.

Trading Platform

Investex supports the most popular forex trading platform – the MetaTrader 4 (MT4), developed by MetaQuotes. With this broker, it is available as PC, web and mobile versions.

Investex is an offshore MT4 broker that provides online trading services in forex and various CFDs under competitive terms. The company behind the brand also operates as a bank.
