Karoll Brokerage Review

Karoll Brokerage has two types of live account for trading in forex, plus free demo accounts. The asset portfolio for the MetaTrader account consists of major and minor forex pairs, plus some exotics.

There is another account – Karoll Dealing with a max leverage of 1:100 for trading in CFDs in stocks, forex pairs, gold, silver, oil, etc. The asset portfolio for this type of account is much more extensive than that of MetaTrader. The Karoll Dealing type of account also has a free demo for testing purposes.

Company Country Regulation
Karoll Financial Group Bulgaria FSC

Karoll Brokerage is a Bulgarian brokerage company, part of Karoll Financial Group. It is regulated by Bulgaria’s Financial Supervision Commission (FSC). Being an EU-regulated broker means it can operate throughout the EEA. The company is also a member of Bulgaria’s Investor Compensation Fund. It which covers up to 90% of the due sum in case the company goes bankrupt, but not more than BGN 40 000 (around EUR 20 000).

Karoll is also a partner of the major US brokerages – Interactive Brokers and one of the European leaders in forex and CFD trading – CMC Markets.

Trading Conditions

Minimum initial deposit

Karoll requires a minimum initial deposit of $/€100, which is not a very large sum, even though there are brokers like FXTM, XM and IG with much lower requirements. Either way, usually the very low or no requirements are just a gimmick to attract clients and in practice it is impossible to trade in a sensible manner with very small sums.

Spreads and Commissions

Karoll offers fairly tight spreads, starting from 0.7 pips on EURUSD for the MetaTrader accounts. The Dealing type of account has fixed spreads of 1.7 pips for EURUSD. The broker does not charge additional commissions and fees on neither of the accounts.

Those conditions are fairly good, as a matter of fact. Another broker with similar conditions is IG. XM, on the other hand, offers fixed spreads of 1.7 pips and does not charge commission on those accounts.

Leverage

Karoll Brokerage gives a max leverage of 1:500 on the MetaTrader account, which is above the industry average and could be a very lucrative offer for some traders. Of course, there are other brokers, like Grand Capital, offers a leverage of up to 1:2000.

Trading Platforms

Karoll offers two trading platforms for forex and CFDs: MetaTrader 4 and Interactive Brokers’ own platform Trader Workstation (TWS), which Karoll intends for “professional” traders.

TWS is a multi-asset platform that supports trading in stocks, options, futures, options on futures, ETF, warranties, indices, bonds, funds and currencies. Its pro version provides direct access to the Forex Interbank Market – the actual quotes of the thirteen largest FX dealers worldwide. TWS also has analysis tools, supports algo trading and more than 50 types of orders and API functionality.

Another Bulgarian broker that is offering TWS is Bulbrokers.

Methods of payment

Karoll accepts payments through bank transfers only, or at least this is the only listed option on their site. It seems it does not accept payments through credit and debit cards, nor through online payment systems like Skrill and PayPal.

Karoll Brokerage is an EU-regulated broker which implies it is reliable and stable. Its trading conditions in some aspects are better than the average and the leverage is fairly high. Another advantage of Karoll is the partnership with major brokers like Interactive Brokers and CMC Markets.

Instead of the forex broker you can use Plus500, XM, eToro, Fxpro or AvaTrade forex brokers.
